Why does Fasty keep showing a paywall?
Understand which actions open the Pro screen and how to keep tracking with the free controls.
Fasty does not automatically show a paywall just for opening the app or starting and finishing a fast with its ordinary iPhone controls. The purchase screen opens when you choose an upgrade offer or try a feature your current access does not include.
Why it can feel like every time
If you usually open Fasty by tapping a widget or Live Activity button, that tap may request a paid action. Repeating it can open the Pro screen each time, even though starting or finishing inside the iPhone app is free.
Viewing a timer and controlling it from that surface have different access:
- Home Screen widgets: Timer and single-zone status widgets do not require Fasty Pro. Interactive start/finish buttons, the full five-zone overview and the latest completed-fast summary in large and portrait widgets require Fasty Pro. Without that access, detailed overview and summary values are hidden.
- Live Activities: viewing the timer is free; their start/finish and goal buttons have paid-access requirements.
- Siri and Shortcuts: ordinary start, finish, duration-goal and current-state actions are free. Buttons inside a result snippet and advanced actions such as changing an active start, setting an exact end-time goal or finding fasts have paid-access requirements. See the action guide.
Other paid features, such as saved goal presets, themes and Health synchronization, can also open an upgrade screen when selected.
Keep using the free timer
Open Fasty using its app icon and use the main timer's Start Fast and End Fast controls. You can close the purchase screen and continue with starting and finishing in the app.
For timer or single-zone status without action buttons, choose a non-interactive widget. For a Live Activity without action buttons, open Statistics → Settings → Live Activity and turn off Show buttons. You can keep its fasting/eating display enabled. Changing a button's behaviour to Open app does not remove its access requirement. See Live Activity settings.
If you already paid
Check which purchase you have: Basic or earlier access does not unlock every Pro feature. If a feature included in your purchase remains locked, follow purchase restoration.
If the purchase screen appears when you open the app icon or use the ordinary in-app start/finish controls, please contact me with what you tapped, your Fasty/iOS versions and a screenshot. I'll help work out why it appeared.
