How do I fix overlapping or duplicate fasts?
Inspect conflicting records and choose whether to correct, remove or merge them.
An overlap means records cover some of the same time. A duplicate may be one cause; incorrect dates can also create an overlap between different fasts.
Inspect the records
Open Statistics → Overlapping Fasts, or use the overlapping-fasts filter in Statistics → Data (tray icon, top-left corner) → Fasting. Open an overlapping group and compare the underlying records' start, end and goal values.
- If a date is wrong, tap the record and correct it.
- If a record is an extra copy, remove that copy.
- If the periods should become one continuous record, use the merge control.
Merge a group
In the overlapping group's screen, tap Merge Fasts and review the confirmation. Confirming replaces the constituent records with a combined fast. That changes your stored history, including the individual records and their goals.
Merging an export is different
Merge Overlapping Fasts in Export only changes the exported copy. It does not repair or merge records stored in Fasty. See export options.
An overlap warning does not itself disable Save. If that button is unavailable, check that the fast lasts at least one minute. Compare the neighbouring dates before saving so you do not add an unintended overlap or duplicate.
