Can I start, finish or change goals automatically?

Use Shortcuts automations to run Fasty actions at your chosen times.

Fasty's actions can be used in Apple Shortcuts automations. A daily reminder only notifies you; an automation runs an action such as starting or finishing a fast.

Create the action first

Build a shortcut containing the Fasty action you want and its parameters. For example, use a start action for the beginning, a finish action for the end, or a duration-goal action to choose the goal. See Fasty actions.

Give it a schedule

On iOS 27, open your shortcut's editor, choose Automation and add a trigger such as Time of Day. Set the time and repetition. On earlier iOS versions, create a personal automation and select your shortcut. Apple's automation guide explains your system's controls and confirmation/locked-device options.

Create separate scheduled shortcuts for starting and finishing if you want both. Different days or goals can use separate triggers/shortcuts. Confirm the resulting start, end and goal in Fasty after the first scheduled execution.

Things to account for

The finish action saves the active fast. It does not merely send an alert. Execution depends on the system's automation settings and the selected action's access requirements. An exact end-time goal action has a different access boundary from entering an end-time goal inside Fasty.

To pause a schedule, disable its automation in Shortcuts. This does not pause an already-running Fasty timer. Use timer controls for the active fast.
